The Kosovo Special Police Unit has arrived at the vote counting center in South Mitrovica, where the counting of ballots has been halted.
Earlier, Prosecutor Faton Peci stated that the counting was stopped due to reports from vote counters about irregularities and the need for technical clarifications from the Central Election Commission (CEC).
Meanwhile, the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) presented evidence of ballot irregularities for the November 9 elections, which led to the suspension of the counting process at the municipal counting center in South Mitrovica.
Jahir Sumiqi, PDK chair at the South Mitrovica Counting Center, said that the case prosecutor Njazi Rexha requested the continuation of the counting, but PDK and its coalition partners will continue to boycott the process and will not violate the law.
Sumiqi mentioned that more than 20 polling stations were moved from classroom to classroom or from one polling station to another, and in most cases, these ballots belonged to the Vetëvendosje Movement.
“Out of 35 ballot boxes counted, more than 20 polling stations were moved from classroom to classroom or from one polling station to another. This is organized manipulation, and we found documented evidence during the counting of ballots. Over 20 ballots had different serial numbers, meaning the serial number did not match the polling station number. Most of these ballots were moved from Migjeni School to Abdullah Shabani School, and from the University to the Zhabar School,” Sumiqi stated.
