President Vjosa Osmani today met with Henning Otte, the German Parliamentary Commissioner for the Armed Forces, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between Kosovo and Germany in the defense sector.

During the meeting, Osmani expressed Kosovo’s deep gratitude for Germany’s continued support, including that of the Bundestag and Bundeswehr, in developing the Kosovo Security Force (FSK) over the course of a decade-long transition process.

“President Osmani and Mr. Otte discussed opportunities to strengthen cooperation between our parliamentary commissioner institutions, exchanging professional experiences to enhance accountability, transparency, and democratic standards within our respective armed forces,” the Presidential Office stated.

Osmani reaffirmed that Germany remains a strategic partner for Kosovo in peace, security, development, and integration into NATO and the EU. She also thanked German armed forces personnel serving in KFOR and NALT for their ongoing contributions to regional stability.

She added that the establishment of the FSK Parliamentary Commissioner institution demonstrates that Kosovo’s path toward NATO membership is rooted in standards, responsibility, and democratic values. Osmani emphasized that the FSK will continue to develop as a professional, ethical, and accountable defense force, fully committed to its constitutional mission and legal competencies.
