Retired U.S. General Wesley Clark, former Supreme Allied Commander Europe for NATO, returned today for the second day of his testimony before the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague. His testimony is part of the ongoing trial against former senior Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) leaders Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi, and Jakup Krasniqi.

On Monday, General Clark provided insight into his meetings with Hashim Thaçi during the Rambouillet negotiations in 1999. In his statements, Clark noted that Thaçi was not the military commander of the Kosovo Liberation Army at that time.

The mistakes of others should not be attributed to Thaçi,” Clark stated in his testimony. He further emphasized his belief that Thaçi did not have control over those who allegedly committed acts of violence during the conflict.

General Clark is expected to be the final witness before the trial moves into its closing arguments phase, after which the judicial panel will issue its verdict.

Following the completion of testimony, a Case Status Conference is scheduled for Wednesday, November 19, while the session originally planned for Friday, November 21, has been canceled.

This high-profile case continues to draw international attention, particularly due to the prominent roles the defendants played during and after the Kosovo war.
