The Kosovo Hydrometeorological Institute (IHMK) has issued a yellow-level warning for heavy rainfall and potential flooding in several regions of the country.

According to the announcement, the situation is expected to worsen starting Saturday evening. The institute noted that while river levels across Kosovo have recently decreased, upcoming rainfall—particularly in eastern areas such as the Morava e Binçës basin—may lead to increased water flow from highland regions, affecting the Morava e Binçës River and its main tributary, Kriva Reka, and potentially causing floods.

Other regions at risk include northeastern areas (Llap basin), central zones (Sitnica), and southern parts (Lepenac basin).

IHMK also emphasized that while the forecasted weather events are not unusual, caution is advised for anyone planning activities in exposed areas. Citizens are urged to stay informed about weather conditions and avoid unnecessary risks.
