The Kosovo Police, through the Directorate for International Police Cooperation and the specialized FAST unit, successfully carried out the arrest of an individual wanted under an international arrest warrant.
According to a statement from the Kosovo Police, today around 13:30, officers from this directorate, in coordination with other relevant units of the Kosovo Police, detained a foreign national who was wanted by INTERPOL under an international arrest warrant issued by the authorities of another country. The individual is suspected of criminal offenses related to the exploitation of minors and unlawful deprivation of liberty.
The arrested person has been taken in for further procedures. By decision of the on-duty prosecutor, a 48-hour police detention measure was imposed, after which further legal steps will follow in accordance with international police cooperation agreements and procedures.
“The Kosovo Police remain committed to fulfilling their legal duties and to international cooperation in the interest of public safety and combating cross-border crime,” the statement reads.
