The Municipal Assembly of Prishtina will hold an extraordinary session today to discuss own-source revenues and the 2026 budget. The session is scheduled to begin at 15:00.

This development comes after several days of public transport disruption caused by the strike of Urban Traffic workers and private transport operators, as well as the municipality’s financial difficulties. The situation has resulted in long traffic jams and difficulties for citizens relying on urban transport.

The head of the Urban Traffic Union in Prishtina, Ilmi Gashi, expressed hope that today’s extraordinary meeting will produce a solution to the ongoing situation.

Gashi said the meeting is legitimate, and if no result is achieved, he warned that the strike will continue.

“If there is no solution, the strike will continue until the allocation of funds owed to the operators. We are hopeful that this will end, and we hope that reason will prevail in this meeting,” he stated.
