Croatian journalist Domagoj Margetić spoke exclusively to Balkan Talks on Euronews Albania regarding his investigative report linking Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić to a group of snipers during the Bosnian War. Margetić provided details and evidence from his investigation that suggest Vučić’s direct involvement.
“Near Sarajevo, operations were led by people from a paramilitary unit, who had clearance from Serbian institutions. What we know now, and what I discovered, is that Vučić was one of those escorting the so-called ‘clients’, wearing a badge of the Serbian secret services while facilitating their movement.
Mirko Blagojević, head of this paramilitary unit, stated that Vučić accompanied individuals and enabled their movement. They went from the Ipale area to Jewish cemeteries while tourists passed by. Most of my evidence comes from Serbian paramilitary members; I spoke to current and former members who confirmed Vučić’s presence.
I also met members of the Serbian paramilitary unit who confirmed that this ‘safari’ was led by Slavko Aleksić, with Vučić as part of the unit. The majority of my information comes directly from the soldiers. In my article, I did not mention Serbia or Serbian citizens, but only those involved in these actions.”
Margetić’s revelations add to the ongoing debate about wartime accountability and highlight unreported roles of political figures in conflict-era atrocities.
