Ukrainian military intelligence (HUR) has released a video showing an operation in Russia-occupied Zaporizhzhia Oblast, claiming to have disrupted the sale of stolen fuel by Chechen fighters.
HUR reported that two explosions were orchestrated at a site where members of Akhmat, a Chechen unit in the Russian army known as the “Kadyrovites,” were selling stolen fuel in the occupied Berdiansk district of Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
According to HUR, Ukrainian partisans operating in occupied territories discovered the scheme and planted explosives, targeting two vehicles. The number of casualties is currently being determined.
Berdiansk, a southeastern city in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, has been under Russian occupation since February 2022.
The Kadyrovites, named after Chechen leader Akhmad Kadyrov and led by his son Ramzan Kadyrov, have been accused of widespread human rights violations during the invasion of Ukraine.
The Ukrainian army continues to regularly target military objectives in Russian-occupied territories and deep inside Russia, aiming to weaken Moscow’s military capabilities as it continues its defense against the Russian invasion.
