The U.S. Department of Justice made a significant announcement regarding the investigation into the bomb attack on a pipeline linked to the January 6 Capitol unrest. Attorney General Pam Bondi stated that Brian Cole Jr., the man accused of placing pipe bombs outside the DNC and RNC offices on the night before the 2021 attack, has been charged with using an explosive device.
The multi-year investigation is still ongoing, Bondi said, adding that investigators are continuing to execute search warrants and that additional charges against Cole could be brought.
She sharply criticized the Department of Justice under former President Joe Biden for failing to carry out an arrest sooner, saying the unresolved case remained pending for four years.
“Let me be clear, there was no new information, no new witnesses just good, diligent work by the police and the prosecutors,” Bondi stated.
