Kosovo Customs and Police Seize Over 250 kg of Tobacco in Prishtina

In a joint operation yesterday, the Anti-Smuggling Units of Kosovo Customs, in cooperation with the Kosovo Police, confiscated a significant quantity of goods suspected to be smuggled in an unmarked facility near the Green Market in Prishtina.

During the operation, authorities discovered merchandise without proper documentation:

  • Shredded tobacco: 511 packs of 500 grams each, totaling 255.5 kg without tax stamps.
  • Honey: 100 packs of 12 pieces each, totaling 1,200 kg without labeling.
  • Cigarette filters: 21 packs of 10,000 pieces each, totaling 210,000 filters.

The seized items have been temporarily detained, and the Prishtina Basic Prosecutor’s Office has been notified to provide guidance on further legal proceedings.

Kosovo Customs and Police emphasized their ongoing commitment to combating smuggling and protecting market integrity, calling on citizens to cooperate and report any suspicious goods.
