Gunfire Incident in Prishtina: Five Arrested, Two Firearms Seized

Kosovo Police have arrested five individuals following a gunfire incident on Gjilan Street in Prishtina, authorities confirmed on Saturday.

According to the police, the suspects are believed to have been directly involved in an exchange of gunfire, prompting an immediate operational response by law enforcement units.

Officers from the South Police Station and the Capital City Investigations Sector were deployed to the scene, where, as a result of rapid and coordinated police action, four suspects were initially arrested and firearms used in the incident were seized.

Following further investigative measures, police were able to identify and arrest a fifth suspect, from whom an additional firearm was confiscated.

“Police officers conducted swift operational actions at the scene, leading to the arrest of four suspects and the seizure of weapons used in this case. Subsequent investigative efforts resulted in the identification and arrest of a fifth suspect, from whom a firearm was also seized,” the police statement said.

Suspects Held for 48 Hours

After being interviewed and in coordination with the State Prosecutor, all five suspects were placed in police custody for 48 hours.

They are suspected of committing the following criminal offenses:

  • Use of a weapon or dangerous instrument
  • Unauthorized ownership, control, or possession of weapons
  • Unauthorized possession of narcotics

Police have not reported any injuries related to the incident, while investigations into the circumstances and motives behind the shooting are ongoing.
