Gunfire at a Mosque in Austria, Albanian Community Responds

Several gunshots were reported at a mosque in Hollabrunn, Austria. The offices of the Green Party were also reportedly affected.

According to Austrian media, police spokesperson Johann Baumschlager stated that investigations are underway to identify the perpetrators.

The shots at the mosque are believed to have been fired around midnight.

Meanwhile, the State Office for the Protection of the Constitution and Countering Extremism has also launched an investigation, particularly examining whether there is a religious or political motive behind the incident.

The Albanian religious community has reacted to the incident:

“The Albanian Muslim community in Austria strongly condemns this act of violence against a religious institution,” the statement read on Facebook.
