Emergency Management Agency: Snowfall Has Reduced Flood Risk, Care for Evacuated Residents Continues

Kosovo’s Emergency Management Agency (AME) has released its latest report on the flood situation, stating that snowfall has helped reduce the immediate risk of flooding, while authorities continue to monitor affected areas and provide assistance to evacuated residents.

According to the report, most flooding incidents were caused by blocked drainage systems, leading to water accumulation on roads and in residential areas.

Situation by Municipality

Prishtina

  • Flooding reported on Qagllavica Road and the associated underpass
  • Flooding also recorded at the Shkabaj underpass and the road toward Obiliq

Fushë Kosovë

  • Flooding in the village of Lismir
  • Kuzmin village road blocked to traffic
  • Flooding near the bridge in Sllatinë e Madhe, mainly due to blocked sewage systems

Lipjan

  • No flooding reported
  • River water levels have stabilized

Obiliq

  • Underpass at the Mazgit highway exit blocked by water
  • Flooding near the roundabout close to the “Spahia” fuel station
  • Roads Hamedi–Plemetin and Obiliq–Palaj remain blocked

Drenas

  • Flooding in new commercial premises in the city
  • Flooded road near the main KEDS transformer station
  • Flooding of residential yards in Qikatovë e Vjetër

Podujevë

  • No flooding reported
  • River levels stabilized

Shtime

  • No flooding reported
  • River levels stabilized

Graçanicë

  • Flooding on the road near Prishtina Mall
  • Flooded residential yards in the village of Radevë

Prizren, Suharekë, Malishevë, Rahovec, Dragash, Mamushë

  • No interventions required
  • Roads remain passable

Mitrovica Region Alert

In the Mitrovica region, following continuous rainfall and rising river levels, authorities have identified a real risk of the Sitnica River overflowing, particularly in the “2 Korriku” neighborhood of South Mitrovica.

AME emphasized that monitoring remains ongoing, and emergency teams are on standby to respond if conditions worsen.
