Kosovo Teacher Arrested on Suspicion of Spying for Serbia’s BIA

Fehim Sali has been arrested on suspicion of espionage in a joint operation involving the Kosovo Intelligence Agency (KIA), the Kosovo Police and the Special Prosecution.

According to reports, Sali is suspected of having cooperated with Serbia’s Security Intelligence Agency (BIA) for an extended period and of maintaining contacts with one of its officials, Zelimir Matović.

Sali works as a teacher at the Serbian-language school “9 Maji” in Rapçë, Dragash. He has also previously served on the Consultative Council for Communities within the Office of the President of Kosovo.

He is further suspected of mediating matters involving Serbian property and documents, as well as allegedly collecting votes for supporters of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić.

The case remains under investigation, and the allegations against Sali have yet to be established by a final court decision.
