Raphinha shone with two goals to lead Barcelona to victory in the Spanish Super Cup.
In Sunday night’s final, Barcelona defeated Real Madrid 3–2.
The final was played in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Barcelona won the Spanish Super Cup for the 16th time, setting a record. Real Madrid remains with 13 Super Cup trophies.
The final was dramatic but largely dominated by Barça.
The winning goal for 3–2 was scored by Brazilian winger Raphinha in the 73rd minute. He finished after an assist from Dani Olmo, with the ball deflecting on its way into the net.
At halftime, the score was 2–2. Raphinha opened the scoring in the 36th minute.
Vinícius Júnior equalized to make it 1–1 in second-half stoppage time with a superb individual effort. In the fourth minute of added time in the first half, Robert Lewandowski restored Barcelona’s lead at 2–1.
However, 21-year-old Gonzalo García scored in the sixth minute of added time in the first half to level the score at 2–2.
