Acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met today with Ambassador William Walker, the former head of the OSCE Kosovo Verification Mission, ahead of the 27th anniversary of the Reçak Massacre.

Ambassador Walker attended the meeting accompanied by his wife and close associates, according to a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office.

During the meeting, Kurti expressed his deep appreciation for Walker’s historic role in exposing Serbia’s genocidal crimes in Kosovo, emphasizing the lasting importance of his contribution to truth, justice, and international awareness.

“Prime Minister Kurti stated that he is always pleased to welcome Ambassador Walker and conveyed his profound gratitude for his historic role for the people of Kosovo, for his enduring friendship, and for his unwavering commitment to truth and justice,” the statement said.

The discussion also covered recent political developments in Kosovo, as well as preparations for the commemorative ceremony of the Reçak Massacre, which will take place tomorrow in the municipality of Shtime. Both Kurti and Walker are expected to attend the ceremony.

According to the announcement, Ambassador Walker thanked Prime Minister Kurti for the meeting and congratulated him on the electoral result and victory in the December 28, 2025 elections.

The Reçak Massacre, in which Serbian forces killed 45 Albanian civilians in January 1999, remains one of the most significant and painful events in Kosovo’s recent history and a key moment in galvanizing international intervention.
