The National Institute of Public Health of Kosovo (NIPH) has announced that it continues to monitor water quality across the entire territory of Kosovo.

According to the latest analysis results, the situation remains unchanged in the regions of Pristina, Mitrovica, Ferizaj, Prizren, and Gjakova.

“The National Institute of Public Health of Kosovo (NIPH), in cooperation with regional public health centers, continues regular monitoring of drinking water quality throughout Kosovo. Based on the analysis results dated January 15, 2026, the situation remains unchanged in the regions of Pristina, Mitrovica, Ferizaj, Prizren, and Gjakova.”

In the Gjilan region, at Kamenica Station No.1 and Besa Center, water quality is within acceptable standards.

However, at Pumping Station No.2, Bahqja, and the village of Berivojcë, nitrate levels were found above permissible limits, and water from these areas is not recommended for drinking.

In the Peja region, including Peja, Deçan, Junik, and Istog, water quality is within safe drinking standards.

“In Klina, both the well network and the network from the Jarinë source show increased turbidity values; therefore, water is not recommended for drinking.”
