Italian soldiers from the Regional Command–West (RC-West) of the NATO-led KFOR mission continue to carry out regular training exercises across western Kosovo, KFOR announced.

According to the statement, the training focused on surveillance activities through both mounted and dismounted patrols, aimed at maintaining and strengthening KFOR’s operational capabilities in monitoring and controlling its area of responsibility.

These patrols are considered essential for ensuring a visible, impartial presence on the ground, enhancing situational awareness, and supporting stability and security throughout the RC-West region. Such activities directly contribute to creating a safe and secure environment for all citizens of Kosovo.

KFOR continues to implement its mandate, based on United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 (1999), to guarantee a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement for all people in Kosovo, at all times.

The KFOR mission also works closely with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX), in line with their respective roles as security responders.
