Kosovo’s President, Vjosa Osmani, expressed her condolences to the families affected by the deadly train accident in southern Spain.

“We extend our deepest sympathies to the families who have lost their loved ones and wish a speedy recovery to all those injured. Kosovo stands in solidarity with the people of Spain during this difficult time,” she wrote on her social media platform X.

At least 39 people have died and dozens more were injured in the collision, which Spanish authorities describe as the country’s deadliest rail accident in over a decade. The accident occurred when the carriages of a train traveling toward Madrid derailed and crossed onto the opposite track, colliding head-on with an oncoming train in Adamuz on Sunday evening.

According to railway officials, both trains carried around 400 passengers and staff. Emergency services treated 122 individuals, with 48 still hospitalized, including five children. Among these patients, 11 adults and one child remain in intensive care.
