A group of Kosovo Serbs from the village of Prilluzha protested on Monday morning in front of Serbia’s so-called Office for Kosovo in Belgrade, demanding justice over what they described as irregular recruitment practices through employment competitions in the healthcare sector.

According to the protesters, even in the most recent recruitment process, priority was given to individuals who had undergone retraining, rather than to candidates who completed their education through regular academic pathways. They also stressed that, once again, social conditions specifically the so-called “social card”were not taken into account during the evaluation of applicants.

The residents called for a review of recruitment procedures and greater transparency in candidate selection, stating that they will continue to seek institutional solutions to address the issue, Rks News reports.

“From Prilluzha, residents arrived this morning in front of the Office for Kosovo in Belgrade to seek justice over irregular employment practices in healthcare recruitment competitions, where priority was once again given to retrained individuals over those with regular education, while social status (‘social card’) was also ignored,” reads a statement published on Facebook by the so-called Office for Kosovo in Serbia.

It should be recalled that Serbia illegally opened job competitions in Kosovo through parallel institutions during last year’s election campaign.

Serbia has been widely criticized for interfering with Kosovo Serbs, with security experts stating that Belgrade is attempting to influence the Serb population in Kosovo in order to support the Serb List.
