Albania has officially accepted an invitation from U.S. President Donald Trump to become a member of the newly established Peace Board.
Prime Minister Edi Rama published the official letter addressed to President Trump, revealing that the Albanian Parliament will need to ratify the agreement in order for Albania to formally join the organization, which is an initiative launched by Trump.
In a post on Facebook, Rama stated that the document will soon be submitted to the Albanian Assembly for approval.
In the letter, Rama expressed his appreciation for President Trump’s engagement and thanked him personally for the invitation, as well as for inviting Albania to serve as a founding member of the Peace Board.
The Albanian Prime Minister described the Peace Board as the embodiment of an urgent necessity to address global conflicts and the suffering of their victims. He emphasized that the initiative has the potential to evolve into a truly transformative model for global peacebuilding, highlighting the importance of timeliness, a clear mandate, and personal responsibility at the highest level as instruments of peace.
Rama concluded by saying that he considers it both a privilege and an honor to contribute to this significant effort, and to fully engage in a joint commitment aimed at turning vision into concrete action.
