President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has announced that Kosovo and The Bahamas have signed an agreement on the reciprocal abolition of visa requirements for citizens of both countries.

In a post on the platform X, President Osmani stated that the agreement was signed today in Washington, D.C., by the respective ambassadors of the two states.

“The agreement on reciprocal exemption from visa requirements for citizens of Kosovo and The Bahamas was signed today in Washington, D.C., by our respective ambassadors,” Osmani wrote.

She emphasized that this step follows her meeting and agreement with Bahamian Prime Minister Philip Davis, after The Bahamas recognized Kosovo and established diplomatic relations in December.

“Building on our meeting and agreement with Prime Minister Philip Davis following the act of recognition and the establishment of diplomatic relations in December, this step reflects our shared commitment to strengthening the partnership between our two countries — and above all between our people — by bringing them closer together,” Osmani added.

The visa-free agreement was also confirmed by Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Donika Gërvalla, who described it as “another piece of good news and a further step in strengthening bilateral relations following the recent recognition of Kosovo by The Bahamas.”
