President Donald Trump has invited representatives from multiple countries, including Kosovo and Albania, to join the newly formed Board of Peace for Gaza, a diplomatic advisory body aimed at supporting the second phase of the ceasefire between Israel and Palestinian militant group Hamas.

The board will include global leaders who provide advice and assist in negotiations, although it does not have executive authority like the United Nations (UN). Its goal is to promote peace and stability in Gaza through dialogue and international cooperation.

Kosovo will be represented by President Vjosa Osmani, while Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama will represent Albania. The White House announced that the Board will focus on initiatives such as capacity building, regional relations, reconstruction, investment mobilization, and large-scale financing to support the region.

The Board of Peace includes a mix of political leaders, diplomats, and technocrats, such as former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, Jared Kushner, Nickolay Mladenov, and Sigrid Kaag. Its executive committee is tasked with overseeing the restoration of essential public services, rebuilding civil institutions, and stabilizing daily life in Gaza.

Not all invited countries have accepted the initiative. France, led by President Emmanuel Macron, and the United Kingdom, represented by Prime Minister Keir Starmer, have declined participation.

President Trump is expected to announce the full composition of the board and additional details during the World Economic Forum in Davos. The initiative has drawn attention for its unique diplomatic approach and for including both state leaders and non-governmental actors to support peace and reconstruction efforts in Gaza.
