Career diplomat Albert Prenkaj has stated that Kosovo’s participation in the newly established Peace Board could lead to fresh international recognitions from participating states.

Speaking to Klan Kosova’s program “Rubikon”, Prenkaj described the creation of the Peace Board as positive and strategically important news for Kosovo, emphasizing that the country should actively capitalize on its role as a founding member.

“Kosovo being among the founding countries is very good news,” Prenkaj said. “I believe this platform marks the beginning of a new chapter for Kosovo.”

According to Prenkaj, Kosovo is now engaging within a multilateral framework that includes states which have not yet recognized its independence, creating a valuable diplomatic opportunity.

“We are now part of a platform where many of the participating countries have not recognized Kosovo,” he noted. “I would like to believe that this agreement will bring recognitions, at least from those countries that were seated today alongside President Vjosa Osmani.”

Prenkaj stressed that the responsibility now lies with Kosovo’s institutions to transform this diplomatic presence into concrete political outcomes.

“It is Kosovo’s turn to capitalize on its participation in this platform,” he added.

The Peace Board was officially established today in Davos, Switzerland, following an initiative by U.S. President Donald Trump. President Vjosa Osmani signed Kosovo’s membership, confirming the country’s status as a founding and equal participant in the international peace initiative.
