Gërvalla at the Balkan Peace Platform: Regional Cooperation Is Key to Security and Stability

The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Donika Gërvalla, is participating in the second meeting of the Balkan Peace Platform, where, together with the foreign ministers of the Western Balkan countries, she is exchanging views on issues of common interest.

At the forum, Gërvalla emphasized that regional cooperation and security constitute a fundamental pillar of the foreign policy of the Republic of Kosovo and are a prerequisite for stability and prosperity in the Western Balkans.

Taking into account the current international reality marked by uncertainty and geopolitical challenges, Gërvalla highlighted the importance of sustainable regional cooperation as a strategic necessity.

“Cooperation with Turkey, particularly in the field of defense, is strategic, transparent, and peace-oriented; it aims to strengthen institutional capacities and contribute to international peacekeeping missions,” she stated.

While underscoring the role of the Balkan Peace Platform as a forum that demonstrates how security challenges must be addressed through dialogue and diplomacy, Gërvalla stressed that:

“Kosovo conveys this message in every regional and international forum, committing itself to equality, peace, and sustainable security.”

The Acting Minister reaffirmed the Republic of Kosovo’s commitment to inclusive cooperation, strengthening regional stability, and advancing dialogue as a strategic instrument for peace, security, and sustainable development in the region.
