Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti stated that all commissioners and individuals involved in vote manipulation must be punished, emphasizing that there will be no amnesty.

Kurti noted that the manipulation was carried out in a clandestine manner by commissioners within political parties. He urged the responsible institutions to pursue investigations to the very end.

“Commissioners and individuals who clandestinely participated in vote manipulations within political parties, harming colleagues and parties, will not receive amnesty. We encourage the responsible institutions to carry the investigations through to the end.”

Kurti stressed that his party, Lëvizja VETËVENDOSJE!, has always been and will remain the guardian of citizens’ political will, highlighting the importance of electoral integrity.

“The Republic of Kosovo is a model of democracy in the region and of electoral processes. Citizens’ will is sacred, the vote is free, and this will be guaranteed until the end. Suspicions must be investigated, manipulators must be punished.”

Kurti’s statement comes after an operation by the Prizren Prosecutor’s Office and Police, in which 109 people were detained for vote falsification. Prizren Chief Prosecutor Petrit Kryeziu emphasized that the manipulation would not have been possible without collusion among commissioners from the four largest parties.

“It would have been impossible for these votes to be changed without the agreement of commissioners from the four largest parties to do so.”
