Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service, in coordination with the country’s Defense Forces, has destroyed a Chinese-made multiple rocket launcher system used by Russian forces on the southern front, Ukrainian officials confirmed.

According to an official statement, drone units located and struck a Type 63 multiple rocket launcher, which Russian troops had attempted to conceal. The strike triggered a powerful explosion, rendering the system inoperable.

The Type 63 rocket launcher, originally manufactured in China, is a legacy weapons system designed for rapid, short-range bombardment. Ukrainian authorities did not specify when or where the system was acquired by Russian forces, but noted that its use highlights Russia’s continued reliance on foreign-produced military equipment.

Separately, amid growing skepticism over whether Russian President Vladimir Putin has agreed to halt attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed reports suggesting he had been invited to Moscow for talks.

Zelensky stated that he is open to “any format” of a leaders’ summit, but firmly rejected the possibility of negotiations taking place in Moscow, describing such a scenario as “impossible.” He also ruled out holding talks in Belarus, citing the country’s close political and military alignment with the Kremlin.

The developments come as fighting continues across multiple fronts, while diplomatic efforts to reduce hostilities remain uncertain.
