The Municipality of Prishtina has announced that its emergency and maintenance teams are actively deployed and on full standby to respond as needed, aiming to ensure road safety across the capital amid deteriorating winter conditions.
In an official public notice, municipal authorities urged citizens to exercise increased caution while traveling, particularly in rural and mountainous areas, where ice formation and slippery road surfaces pose heightened risks.
Call for Increased Caution
According to the municipality, low temperatures have significantly increased the risk of ice on roadways, making driving conditions more hazardous throughout the city and its surroundings.
Citizens are specifically advised to:
- Use appropriate winter equipment
- Drive at reduced speeds
- Respect road signage and follow instructions from authorities
Continuous Monitoring and Interventions
The Municipality emphasized that municipal teams will continue monitoring road conditions and intervening whenever necessary, in order to maintain the safest possible traffic flow in the capital.
“Our teams are in the field and fully prepared to act according to need, in the interest of safety on the roads of the capital,” the statement said.
Authorities thanked citizens for their understanding and cooperation, stressing that public vigilance remains essential during the current weather conditions.
