Kosovo’s Electoral Complaints and Appeals Panel (ECAP) has confirmed that it has received seven formal appeals related to the publication of the final results of the December 28 parliamentary elections by the Central Election Commission (CEC).
According to information provided to Telegrafi, the appeals were filed by various political entities and individual candidates, mainly citing irregularities in the voting process and controversial decisions taken by the CEC.
The appeals were submitted by:
- Serb List – appeal against a decision of the CEC
- Nova Demokratska Stranka (NDS) – two appeals concerning irregularities during voting
- PAI–PDAK–LPB coalition – appeal related to irregularities involving ballot papers
- Bekim Haxhiu – two appeals, one concerning the allocation of seats in the Assembly, and another related to irregularities in the counting of postal votes
- United Roma Party of Kosovo (PREBK) – appeal over irregularities during the voting process
ECAP stated that all accepted appeals will be reviewed and decided within the legal deadline of 96 hours, calculated from the date each appeal was officially submitted.
The panel’s decisions are expected to directly affect the final certification process of the election results by the CEC.
The deadline for political subjects and candidates to submit appeals to ECAP expired today at 11:00, marking the formal closure of the complaint submission phase.
The CEC announced the final election results on Saturday, following a recount process that uncovered manipulation of votes for parliamentary candidates. As a result of these findings, security and judicial institutions were activated, leading to the arrest of dozens of individuals across several regions on suspicion of vote tampering and electoral fraud.
