Rks News has obtained new details from the investigation into the falsification of voting results at the Municipal Vote Counting Center in Mitrovica South, where a total of 21 individuals suspected of being involved in manipulations during the electoral process have been arrested and detained.
According to reliable sources, the investigation covered the period from December 29, 2025, to January 2, 2026. On February 1, 2026, in coordination with the State Prosecutor, the suspects were summoned for questioning in their capacity as election commissioners.
The arrested individuals are: Arbër Nimani, Bajram Fetahu, Hikmet Sahiti, Shpat Neziri, Yll Sahatçiu, Dea Kurti, Skofiar Syla, Behram Shabani, Florim Kabashi, Endrit Krasniqi, Adnan Musa, Veronika Hasani, Resa Avdyli, Ahmet Morina, Korab Prekazi, Laurenta Hajrizi, Anita Sherifi, Rinor Shabani, Valton Peci, Shpend Hajrizi, Ariona Rushiti.
After interviews and the submission of written statements, the State Prosecutor decided to detain all suspects for 48 hours on suspicion of the criminal offense of “Falsification of Voting Results” and sent them to the Detention Center in Lipjan.
Rks News has learned that on February 2, 2026, ten of the suspects were brought before the Preliminary Procedure Judge at the Basic Court in Mitrovica.
According to Decision PPr.nr.4/2026, the Court rejected the Prosecutor’s request to impose pre-trial detention, ruling that these individuals should remain free.
Those released are: Arbër Nimani, Bajram Fetahu, Hikmet Sahiti, Shpat Neziri, Yll Sahatçiu, Dea Kurti, Skofiar Syla, Laurenta Hajrizi.
The investigation into this case is ongoing, and further procedural actions by the Prosecutor’s Office are expected regarding the alleged vote manipulation at this counting center.
