Kosovar judokas kicked off their competitions on Saturday at the Paris Grand Slam, with most achieving victories in their opening matches.

The first to compete was judoka Fationa Kasapi, who won in the under-52 kg category against France’s Blandine Pont with a Yuko score.

Erza Muminoviq also recorded a victory in the under-48 kg category, defeating French judoka Marine Gilly in the first round.

Akil Gjakova started successfully as well, winning in the under-73 kg category against Otari Kvatidze from Portugal.

However, Flaka Loxha was unfortunate, losing in the first round of the under-57 kg category to Britain’s Acelya Toprak.

Judokas Distria Krasniqi and Laura Fazliu are scheduled to compete later.

The global judo spectacle is taking place in Paris on February 7–8, featuring 499 competitors from 80 countries, with Kosovo aiming once again for the podium.
