By November 5, it will be known what will happen next after the meeting that will take place with the President of the country, Vjosa Osmani, regarding whether the country will go to elections or whether there will be another prime minister-designate to form the government. While Kosovar analysts call for unity among political parties, there are also opinions that this legislature cannot produce any results.

There are only three days left before the constitutional deadline for the president to decide whether to call new elections or nominate someone to form a new government.

Experts on political issues assess that after the failure of the first prime minister-designate to secure votes in the Assembly for the formation of the government, the best option is new elections.

“This legislature, which resulted from the February elections, does not produce solutions to problems and does not create a stable government; therefore, I think that even after November 5, I don’t believe that another candidate will be able to secure 61 votes for a stable government. After that, either the president should be elected within the given timeframes, or new elections should be held,” said Sadik Zeqiri.

According to them, political parties should reflect and cooperate toward forming a stable government that would take the country out of the institutional crisis.

“Political parties in Kosovo must find a solution that serves the national interest, through reasonable cooperation, because it would be very important to form the government, to process the draft budget for next year, to make many other institutions functional that are currently hindered by the lack of functioning, and then to prepare for a new phase that will likely again be elections,” said Dorajet Imeri.

The President of the Republic, Vjosa Osmani, must appoint another prime minister-designate to form the government within 10 days, according to the constitutional deadline, which expires on November 5.

After meeting with the president, PDK, LDK, and AAK declared that they are in favor of holding new elections, while the leader of LVV, Albin Kurti, has requested another meeting with the president before November 5.
