Arianit Besiri has been sworn in as the mayor of the municipality of Morbach in Germany.

Besiri officially begins his duties on March 1st.

With over 60% of the votes won, his formal appointment to lead the municipality of Morbach, which has over 10,000 residents, was made at the end of November.

Although he lives and works in Germany, his love for his homeland, Kosovo, has never faded.

Besiri had mentioned that he usually visits his homeland once a year, during the summer season.

“I come to Kosovo at least once a year, usually in the summer, when everyone is there. The atmosphere is just wonderful, and people are in good spirits. Even though I grew up in Germany, I feel a special connection to Kosovo as my homeland,” Besiri had told Klan Kosova.

He also spoke about the challenges that lie ahead for him as mayor of Morbach.

According to him, the first investments need to be made to ensure the safety of the people, and then to provide medical care in rural areas as soon as possible.
