Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has arrived at the White House for his first official meeting with US President Donald Trump.
President Trump shared on Truth Social that he was looking forward to the meeting but reiterated that the United States does not need anything from Canada.
Ahead of the visit, Carney made it clear that he would resist Trump’s policies, especially after the President imposed tariffs on Canadian imports and repeatedly suggested that he might make Canada the 51st state of the United States.
The meeting marks a significant diplomatic encounter between the two leaders, with tensions between the two nations continuing over trade and political differences.
