With less than a week remaining until the general vote, the Central Election Commission (KQZ) has entered its final logistical phase for the upcoming June 7, 2026, elections, launching a massive nationwide training program for polling station council members.

The comprehensive training initiative aims to professionally prepare approximately 14,000 election officials across all of Kosovo’s municipalities to guarantee a smooth, legally compliant, and transparent voting process on election day.

Workforce Breakdown for the June 7 Elections

The KQZ has finalized the human resource allocations required to manage the country’s vast network of polling stations. The deployment strategy features a mix of regular, conditional, and reserve staff to prevent any operational bottlenecks:

Ensuring Political Impartiality and Accountability

According to the official KQZ statement, the thousands of engaged council members directly represent the various certified political entities participating in the race.

By utilizing a multi-party composition within each polling council, the KQZ seeks to establish an internal system of checks and balances on election day. The ongoing training sessions, which will run continuously throughout the upcoming week, focus heavily on technical polling procedures, proper handling of sensitive election materials, voter identification protocols, and the strict prevention of double-voting or administrative errors.

The KQZ reiterated that these trained officials will carry the ultimate responsibility for administrating, counting, and certifying the initial results at their respective polling locations when the boxes close on June 7.
