The EU’s Foreign Policy Chief, Kaja Kallas, recently spoke to the media upon her arrival in Brussels.
She discussed the need for Europe to “do more, together” in defense and to look at ways to finance new initiatives.
However, she was inevitably asked about Trump’s tariffs, and here’s what she had to say:
“We have been listening carefully to those words and of course, we are preparing on our side as well. What is clear is that there are no winners in trade wars.
If the U.S. starts a trade war, the one that laughs in the corner is China. We are highly interdependent. We need America, and America needs us too.
Tariffs increase costs; they are not good for costs and for consumers,” she said.
