The leader of the Democratic Party of Albania, Sali Berisha, condemned the explosion at the Ibër Lepenc water canal in northern Kosovo, calling it a terrorist act aimed at destabilizing the region and discouraging Serbs from participating in the democratic processes in Kosovo.
“Firstly, I want to strongly condemn the terrorist acts in Zubin-Potok, Zveçan, targeting the water supply for the citizens of Kosovo, and the institutions of Kosovo in those areas. These terrorist acts, which took place after the announcement of the election date by the President of Kosovo and the expression of the will of the Serbian List to participate in these elections, aim to destabilize the region and discourage Serbs from taking part in democratic processes in Kosovo, in their own country,” said Berisha.
He added, “These acts are a severe indictment against Belgrade, which seeks, at all costs, to create a new conflict zone, aiming to destabilize Kosovo. Naturally, such a scenario is a typical tactic of ‘Little Russia,’ which serves the interests of the Kremlin.”
Berisha also stated, “The situation in Kosovo, the ongoing crisis, is a result of the consistently conflictual stance of Belgrade, which aims to maintain a Serbian presence in Kosovo and enlarge Serbia, as President Vučić himself expressed, referring to this expansion with Kosovo’s territories. This situation is in the best interest of the Kremlin, which seeks, alongside its military aggression against Ukraine, to create another conflict in the Balkans, also serving its own interests.”
