Foreign Citizen Arrested in Stançiq Over Alleged Threats Against Kosovo Prime Minister Kurti

A 72-year-old foreign citizen was arrested at the Stançiq border crossing after being wanted under an arrest warrant issued by the Basic Court in Pristina – Special Department, on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of “violence against senior representatives of the Republic of Kosovo.”

According to Sinjali sources, the suspect, identified by the initials K.Xh., is accused of publishing threatening content against Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti on Facebook on October 30, 2025.

The suspect was arrested on July 12, 2026, during border checks at the Stançiq crossing after authorities confirmed that an active arrest warrant had been issued against him by the court.

Following an order from the case prosecutor at the Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo (SPRK), the suspect was placed under a 48-hour detention measure.

The case is being handled by the competent authorities, while investigations into the alleged threats against the Prime Minister remain ongoing.
