France as well will provide additional military aid to Ukraine in the coming days and weeks.

This was announced by the Elysee on Tuesday, after President Emmanuel Macron spoke by phone with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, foreign media write.

“The President of the Republic reiterated France’s determination to provide all necessary support… He was also able to detail shipments for the coming days and weeks in support of Ukrainian military efforts,” a statement said.

An Elysee official declined to elaborate on what the shipments might include.

In his conversation with Zelensky, Macron stressed his support for a ceasefire during the Olympics in Paris this summer, the statement said, which would include Russia ceasing operations and taking “all useful diplomatic initiatives” to open of negotiations.

Last week, China’s President Xi Jingping backed calls for a global ceasefire during the Paris Olympics.

We remind you that recently, Ukrainian troops remain strongly engaged with Russian forces.

In this regard, the head of the Ukrainian police force in the Kharkiv region has described the situation in the city of Vovchansk as “extremely difficult”.

While Oleksiy Kharkivskiy, Vovchansk’s patrol police chief, said on Facebook that Russian forces are setting up positions inside the city.

These moves are part of Moscow’s “emergency offensive” in the Kharkiv region, which is forcing Ukraine to rush reinforcements.
