French fashion agent Daniel Siad, who had longstanding ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, has been found dead at his home near Paris while under investigation over allegations linked to Epstein’s trafficking network.
Siad, 69, was being investigated by French authorities on suspicion of assisting Epstein in the trafficking and sexual exploitation of women, according to French prosecutors.
The Nanterre Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that an investigation has been opened to determine the cause of death, adding that an autopsy will be carried out as part of the inquiry.
Siad had been the subject of several complaints, including allegations of rape, but had not yet been questioned by investigators. He denied all accusations and had previously stated that he wanted to be interviewed in order to present his version of events.
His name appeared in more than 1,000 documents released from the declassified Epstein files, highlighting his connections to the late financier.
In a 2014 message to Epstein, Siad reportedly described his efforts to recruit new models, comparing the process to fishing.
Jeffrey Epstein, who was charged with sex trafficking, died in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting trial. Another French modeling agent linked to Epstein, Jean-Luc Brunel, who also faced allegations connected to the trafficking network, was found dead in a French prison in 2022.
French authorities have not indicated any link between Siad’s death and the ongoing investigation, and the circumstances surrounding his death remain under investigation.
