Kosovo Assembly Speaker Albulena Haxhiu has called for an investigation into the actions and inaction of all institutions involved in the case of Arlinda Zekaj, who was killed while awaiting state protection.
Haxhiu said that Zekaj’s words now sound like a tragic warning that authorities failed to prevent.
She stressed that attention must focus on how institutions assess risks, exchange information and ensure that protective measures are properly implemented.
“In Arlinda’s case, we demand an investigation into the actions or inaction of every institution that was involved,” Haxhiu said.
Her remarks come following Zekaj’s killing, as calls for institutional accountability and clarification over the handling of the case continue to grow.
