The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, has indirectly responded to the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, who, during the speech at the Summit of the leaders of the Western Balkans and the EU held in Montenegro, has asked Serbia to hand over Milan Radoicic and his paramilitary group in Kosovo.

Vucic said that “someone has no business talking about the economy, but only gives political lectures”.

“It will be very easy for me to respond politically to people here who can’t say anything about economics and have never said anything about it, but are always ready to give political lectures to everyone, not just me. It would be pointless, he will do his best to avoid this” – said Vuçiqi.

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albi Kurti, for his part, has stated that: “green fast lines make sense without little green men, that’s why I ask Serbia to hand over Milan Radoicić and the other frontrunners who killed the police officer Afrim Bunjaku on September 24, 2023”.

Until, the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, also criticized political issues during the Summit.

“On the one hand, we talk about big things and we want to be accepted as EU member states, but we continue to block ourselves, this does not make sense. We must leave politics and bilateral issues out of this space, because if we do everything in a European style, this will also ease the atmosphere for bilateral issues”, emphasized Rama.

During the past months, ministerial meetings and regional summits of Western Balkan leaders have been held in Skopje and Tirana.

In these meetings, the leaders and ministers of the countries of the region and representatives of the European Union and the United States of America have discussed the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, which includes six billion euros in grants and loans to accelerate socio-economic convergence with European Union.

The Tirana summit, hosted by the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, was also attended by other regional leaders: the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, the Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Talat Xhaferi, and the President of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Herzegovina, Borjana Kristo.

In this meeting, Kosovo did not have a representative, as the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, was not physically present. His non-participation was justified because Kurti had “previous commitments”. However, he addressed the participants through a video address. The Montenegrin Prime Minister had done the same.

The EU plan for the Western Balkans aims at the economic growth of the region, the acceleration of appropriate reforms, and the making of investments that can advance the process of EU enlargement with these countries.

A similar summit for this plan was held on 22.01.2024 in Skopje, North Macedonia.

The new plan for economic growth in the countries of the Western Balkans, approved by the European Commission on November 8, 2023, is based on four pillars.

The first pillar is “strengthening economic integration in the EU single market”. /Kallxo
