An incident occurred during a protest at Vukov Spomenik in Belgrade this evening, where a driver in a black car rammed into a group of citizens gathered in support of student demands. The protest, part of the “Malo večernje dinstanje” action, aimed to raise awareness and show solidarity for the student movement.

According to N1 reporters, the incident took place shortly after 7:00 PM at the beginning of Roosevelt Street, near a restaurant. Videos circulating on social media show the black car making a sharp turn and driving into the crowd.

One of the protesters, using a megaphone, informed the group that a person had been slightly injured, reportedly a police inspector. Several citizens from different parts of Belgrade had gathered at the monument to join the protest, which included blocking the intersection of Bulevar kralja Aleksandra and Roosevelt Street.

The protest was initially focused on making noise and lasted until 7:14 PM, after which a 16-minute silence was observed to honor the victims of the roof collapse at Novi Sad’s train station on November 1, 2024.

The main message of the protest was: “The voice that is not heard, it is time to announce it with silence, noise, and simmering.”

The protest was secured by inspectors from the Public Order and Peace Department, traffic police, and officers from local police stations.
