As part of the long-standing partnership between the Iowa National Guard and Kosovo, Major General Stephen Osborn paid an official visit to Kosovo this week.
During his visit, he met with the Subcommittee on Defense and Security, joined by the U.S. Embassy’s Office of Defense Cooperation and Economic Office in Pristina, the U.S. Embassy in Kosovo announced.
According to the announcement, the meeting focused on:
Expanding cooperation in Kosovo’s defense industry,
Supporting the Kosovo Security Force’s (KSF) 10-Year Comprehensive Transition Plan,
Enhancing regional stability,
Promoting U.S. defense industry partnerships, and
Strengthening joint commitments to security and economic development.
This visit highlights the continued strategic relationship between Kosovo and the United States through the State Partnership Program (SPP), with Iowa playing a key role in Kosovo’s defense transformation and capacity building.
