Iran’s chief negotiator in talks with the United States, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, along with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, arrived in Doha, Qatar on Monday for discussions focused on diplomatic efforts to end the ongoing conflict, according to a diplomat familiar with the visit who spoke to CNN.

According to the source, the main focus of the delegation’s meetings in Qatar will be issues related to the Strait of Hormuz and Iran’s highly enriched uranium stockpile.

Iranian Central Bank Governor Abdolnaser Hemmati is also part of the delegation. Discussions are expected to include Iran’s frozen assets, which are reportedly being addressed in the memorandum of understanding currently under negotiation between Washington and Tehran and are expected to form part of any final agreement.

The meetings come amid continued regional tensions and broader diplomatic efforts involving the United States, Iran, and Gulf states to prevent further escalation in the Middle East.
