The State Election Commission has counted the votes in the municipalities where the second round of local elections was held in North Macedonia.

In Albanian-majority municipalities, the VLEN coalition won in five municipalities, AKI won in one, while VMRO-DPMNE claimed victory in two municipalities.

VLEN secured wins in the municipalities of Bogovinë, Dibër, Dollnen, Struga, and Tetovë, whereas AKI won only in the municipality of Studeniçan.

In the municipalities of Kërçovë and Bërvenicë, the new mayors will come from the Macedonian party VMRO-DPMNE.

In Kërçovë, VLEN had joined forces with VMRO-DPMNE, preventing Fatmir Dehari from winning.

“Fatmir Dehari lost. He lost because the people united against mismanagement and inadequate work, proving that no one is stronger than the people. We have shown what we can achieve when united. There, different communities, different ethnicities united against those dragging the city down. This opens the door for unity—Macedonians, Albanians, Turks, Roma, Serbs, Vlachs, Bosniaks, Christians, Muslims. VMRO-DPMNE, LSDM, and all others should align around the values and policies citizens need. Coexistence and trust in shared values won. This is an important example of what we can achieve when united. The idea that Macedonia is home for everyone—Macedonians, Albanians, Turks, Roma, Serbs, Bosniaks, and others—won. Dear residents of Kërçovë, I am with you, and Kërçovë must remain a focus of the government in the coming period,” stated Hristijan Mickoski.
