A flag-raising ceremony was held today at the KFOR headquarters in Pristina to welcome Belgium, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands as contributing nations to NATO’s mission in Kosovo.
Since the beginning of 2024, five additional European allies have joined the mission, supporting NATO’s efforts in Kosovo, including France and Portugal, who began contributing in January and September 2024, respectively, according to KosovaPress.
General Major Enrico Barduani, KFOR Commander, expressed his appreciation for the arrival of new personnel. He emphasized that the further increase in KFOR’s presence highlights the collective commitment to maintaining sustainable security in Kosovo and regional stability, particularly supporting the EU-facilitated dialogue for normalizing Kosovo-Serbia relations.
