Kosovo’s Central Election Commission (KQZ) begins training over 15,000 polling station members, including those overseeing voting in diplomatic missions abroad.

The Central Election Commission (KQZ) has launched the next phase of its training program, preparing polling station council members for the upcoming February 9, 2025 elections, reports Ekonomia Online. For the first time, training is also being conducted for members who will oversee voting outside Kosovo, scheduled for February 8, 2025, in diplomatic missions abroad.

Extensive Training Across Kosovo and Diplomatic Missions

Over 15,000 polling station council members from all municipalities in Kosovo have been appointed by the KQZ and will undergo training on election legislation, regulations, and procedures. Key training topics include:

  • Voting and ballot counting procedures at polling stations
  • Conditional voting process
  • Voting accessibility for persons with special needs
  • Ballot counting in Municipal Counting Centers
  • Procedures for receiving and submitting election materials

Voting Infrastructure for Elections

According to KQZ’s decision, Kosovo will have 2,533 polling stations for in-country voting. Additionally, 43 polling stations will be established in Kosovo’s diplomatic representations abroad to facilitate voting for the diaspora.

This initiative aims to ensure a smooth and transparent electoral process, equipping polling officials with the necessary knowledge and skills to uphold democratic standards.
