Kosovo Police Discover Ammunition in an Abandoned House in Zubin Potok Village Following Citizens’ Tip-Off

Kosovo Police have announced the discovery of another cache of weapons and ammunition in the municipality of Zubin Potok, saying the operation was made possible through continued cooperation and mutual trust between the police and local citizens.

According to the police, officers received information from residents indicating that an abandoned house in the village of Lucka Reka might contain illegal weapons and other prohibited items.

“Immediately after receiving the information, police units took swift and professional action by searching the suspected location,” the statement said.

During the search, officers seized:

  • One semi-automatic long firearm
  • 392 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition
  • 123 rounds of 7.9 mm ammunition
  • 15 shotgun shells
  • 11 rounds for a long firearm
  • 3 blank cartridges
  • 18 handgun rounds
  • 2 rounds for a long firearm
  • 6 spent shell casings of various calibers
  • One bayonet

All actions were carried out in coordination with the State Prosecutor, who ordered the initiation of a criminal case for unauthorized ownership, control, or possession of weapons.

No arrests have been made so far, and the case remains under investigation by the competent police units.
