Kosovo Police have prevented an attempted smuggling operation involving goods valued at tens of thousands of euros in the border area with North Macedonia. The incident took place in the mountainous zone between the village of Radush and the road connecting Goranc village with Hani i Elezit.

According to the official statement, Border Police units, as part of the operational plan “Iron Shield,” identified a vehicle traveling on an illegal route from North Macedonia into Kosovo.

“The driver of the vehicle and a passenger attempted to flee, but police managed to stop the vehicle and arrest one of the suspects, a citizen of North Macedonia,” the statement reads.

During the search, various goods without proper documentation were found and seized, with an estimated value exceeding tens of thousands of euros.

By order of the competent prosecutor, the suspect was detained for 48 hours, while the vehicle and goods were confiscated as evidence in criminal proceedings.
